Dr LV Campbell is a specialist Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with a passion for teaching and patient care. His special area of interest is in Maternofetal Medicine, an area of Obstetrics that deals with very high risk pregnancies whether due to pre-existing maternal disease or fetal complications.
In over 15 years of service to the health system in his native Jamaica Dr Leroy Campbell made tremendous contributions to the field of women’s health in Jamaica, serving as tutor and mentor to numerous undergraduate and postgraduate students during almost a decade of service as an associate lecturer at the University of the West Indies as well as a consultant physician in the public service. He has been involved in several landmark initiatives and surgeries including two of the first successful surgeries performed on an unborn baby in the history of Jamaica and the Caribbean.
He has several publications in regional peer reviewed journals such as the West Indian Medical Journal as well as international journals such as the Lancet and the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Dr Campbell’s passion for teaching has extended beyond the academic arena into the public health education space, evidenced by him facilitating live educational programs via social media as well as hosting a weekly radio show, which aired on the Nationwide News Network in his native Jamaica. He also host The Women’s Health podcast, available on YouTube, apple podcast and Spotify.
He now serves as a Consultant for the Health Services Authority in the Cayman islands and the Deputy head of the Women's Health Department at the Cayman Islands Hospital in George Town Grand Cayman.
